Well before Blackstreet or working off and on with Michael Jackson, Teddy Riley was the mastermind behind several other acts and songs. At the same time, in 1998, he formed the group Guy and release their self-titled album. Just about everything on this LP was single-ready and a hit in its own right. Riley was one of the best (and most in-demand) songwriters and producers of that era so, it’s no surprise he was able to put forth such a stunning effort. The enduring quality of Guy is evidenced still today by the number of hip-hop acts that have sampled portions of this album (Nas, Big Sean, and others). Teddy’s credited with the creation of the New Jack Swing style of music found in late 80’s R&B and this LP is dripping in it! Hits like “Groove Me,” “Piece of My Love,” and “I Like” made this album and unstoppable party-rocker and it still achieves that mission today.

This used LP is in very good plus (VG+) condition and the sleeve is in mint (M) condition.
