Look-Ka Py Py - The Meters

Look-Ka Py Py - The Meters
Oh, so much soul!
New Orleans collective The Meters has given the world some of the greatest funk music of any time period, but specifically, of the 1970s. You’d be hard pressed to find a group or solo artist in Pop, Hip-Hop, or R&B that hasn’t been influenced by them in some way. Most notably, the number of times they’ve been sampled speaks directly to that. One of the favorite from this album is “Thinking” which was later used by Musiq Soulchild 2002 song “Religious.” Seriously, there are too many examples like this to document here. Suffice it to say, this should be in your crates a.s.a.p.!
