‘93 was “cool like that.”

If you ask most folks about the golden era of Hip-Hop names like A Tribe Called Quest, Nas, and Big Daddy Kane are often mentioned first. However, acts like Digable Planets were putting out classic material just like these and so many others of this era, yet they get mentioned much later in the "Top 10" list discussions. Reachin' (A New Refutation of Time and Space)was just as much a classic Hip-Hop album as the Tribe's Low End Theory. The period from around 1988 - 1994 simply could not be stopped. You had to know what you were doing in the studio (Pro Tools wasn't there yet), sampling didn't come with as many issues, and the best truly rose to the top. Digable Planets rose right on up with this debut effort and you'd do well to rise with them by adding it to your collection!
